Politicians can be bought off pretty cheaply, it turns out…
VIDEO: “Koch Brothers Exposed” film creator, Robert Greenwald, is interviewed by MSNBC’s Martin Bashir
Here’s my PRINTABLE “BOYCOTT KOCH BROTHERS FLYER” with tear-off strips. Just cut the bottom section along the lines to create the strips.
This is the newly updated version. I added pics of Angel Soft, Mardi Gras, Zee, and Soft ‘n Gentle.
I use Viva or Bounty Paper Towels instead of Brawny Paper Towels, and also instead of using napkins. And for Toilet Paper I use Charmin Ultra-Soft instead of Quilted Northern or Angel Soft. I’ve tried the Health Food brands of Toilet Paper and Paper Towels, and I admit, I do have guilt for not being that much of a greenie when it comes to things like that, but truthfully, I haven’t found a soft brand of TP yet…let me know if you know of a soft brand that is better for the environment.
I had this bright idea today when I was shopping at “The Palace” our local Mom and Pop grocery store (I live in a small town in the country). I found the manager and I told him that I had noticed that he carried a lot of Koch Brothers Paper Products. He didn’t know what I meant…I explained how the Kochs fund the Tea Party, still no bells went off…I asked if he knew about the 1% and the 99%…LIGHT BULB MOMENT! YES!! Communication Established!! (Yay, Occupy)…I asked if he could order different brands, that didn’t support the Koch Brothers…and explained how he could substitute Viva or Bounty for Brawny, and Charmin Ultrasoft for the Toilet Paper Brands…I told him that he could advertise this point to his customers, and they would probably be very supportive. He got what I was talking about. He liked the idea, but said it would depend on whether his distributor stocked the alternatives…but then he had this bright idea himself, and suggested that perhaps he could get his distributor to change brands, too!
Yay! I got happy. I told him I’d come back with a flyer of the different products.
I got so turned on by the idea of having the list of Koch Products all in one place (besides inside my head), that I made a button, too! Picture coming soon…
I hope you’ll print out the flyer and post it on bulletin boards where you live.
[P.S. Thanks to harlequin174 for submitting some new ones I didn’t know about:
Colhogar® Delica® Demak’Up® Inversoft® Kitten Soft® Lotus® Moltonel® Nouvelle® Okay Tenderly® Tutto® and Coronet®]
They are responsible for funding the Tea Party, and contributing to GOP candidates, in a concerted effort to defeat Democrats, and influence both State and Federal legislatures.
We need to do what we can to not be helping those who act against our best interests. One way to do that is to withdraw our money from their coffers.
How to accomplish this? First off, we need to KNOW which products the Koch Brothers manufacture, so we can Boycott them.
So, first starters, how many Koch Brothers products can you name?
I came up with a good idea today for a possible nationwide EASTER ACTION:
BOYCOTT KOCH BROTHERS PRODUCTS for Easter this year.
That includes these items for your party:
Dixie Cups
Vanity Fair Paper Plates
Mardi Gras Napkins
Brawny Paper Towels
Quilted Northern Toilet Paper
And of course, if you are driving, don’t buy Koch Brothers Gas Products:
Union Gas
Conoco
Union76
If everyone chose alternate brands of these items nationwide, it might actually make people take notice, at least. I doubt it would affect Koch’s bottom line very much, but who knows, right? It could create a stir.
But now, Charles and David Koch have replaced Dick Cheney as the chief villains for many.
For years they have been using their vast fortune, estimated at a combined $44 Billion to help fund Conservative think tanks and politicians.
They have been a primary benefactor for the Tea Party movement, and now they are vowing to spend $88 million going in to the 2012 elections.
They are the very symbol of the unholy alliance between business and state that plagues this country.”

Actually, you can.
There’s plenty of brands at any Health Food Store that you can buy which will not prosper Koch, PLUS you can get Charmin’ brand at any Supermarket for Toilet Paper, and Bounty or Viva for Paper Towels.
Brave New Films Unveils New Documentary Series
The billionaire Koch brothers have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to gain political influence and change America. Their work and spending is driven by the goal of increasing their own profit through decreasing regulations. The expansive and diverse nature of their efforts makes it overwhelming to keep tabs of all they’ve done that has caused harm. And that’s why Brave New Foundation is going to keep connecting the dots and telling the full story of what they’ve done to our country.
Our work at Brave New Films has always focused on the best way to tell the full story, to connect all the moving pieces and to highlight how one example of a problem in our democracy is always representative of a larger problem. Our producers did this with Outfoxed, where they exposed the unbalanced propaganda that is Fox News. And they did this with Wal-Mart, where they uncovered the damage done to our country by the high cost of low prices. In Iraq For Sale, they exposed the war profiteering and they were on the front line of questioning the reasons for war in Rethink Afghanistan.
With Sick for Profit, they fought against insurance company greed in the battle for health care. And they worked to stop the History Channel from hosting fiction and smearing President Kennedy.
And now we aim our focus at the Koch brothers. With a net worth of $43 billion the Kochs have already spent decades of their lives and over $324 million of their wealth exerting their influence.
The Kochs accomplish their goals by funding a massive array of right wing front groups, think tanks and tea party efforts. They largely operate outside of the public eye, and target their funding to infiltrate public opinion, the media, judicial decisions and legislation.
Over three dozen organizations are funded by the brothers, and they spend additional money lobbying and backing political candidates. Everything the Kochs do is to fight for a country free from protections and any degree of a social safety net for working Americans.
The Kochs are not the only uber-wealthy in America who are using their money to buy political power that will increase their profits, but they are a key example through which to tell this story.
As a starting place of exposing the Kochs, we thought it would be useful to compile a video outlining the top five worst things the Koch brothers have done.
