Batsheva BeSeven You know, I kinda have an issue with this. I hate Michele Bachmann as much as the next progressive, and I do think she’s a total whack job. However, as a writer in Salon pointed out, who among us hasn’t seen a horribly unflattering photo of… themselves? Personally, there have been many photos of me where I was trying to avoid blinking at the flash, so my eyes looked this crazy. I guess I just feel like it’s a little sexist/unfair. Newsweek has never and would never put a comparable photo of a male presidential candidate on the cover, and it certainly isn’t because such photos don’t exist. There are plenty of ways to portray MB’s craziness without using what is simply a bad photo.

Heather-Rose Ryan The problem is, this is really the way she looks. I’ve seen many photos of her with the same expression. She looks way wackier than Palin ever did. It’s not her features, but the spirit which animates them. 

ME, Tara Thralls: I see your point, Batsheva, however, what’s fair in Politics? I think we need all the help we can get in demonstrating just how batshit crazy this bitch is!  I’m just a tiny bit sorry for my harsh language, but this woman is a hateful bigot of the worst kind - she is a bigot against her own gay husband, and doesn’t even know he’s gay. She thinks gay people have a “disorder”. This woman needs to be stopped, and yes, it was an unflattering picture, and lord knows, I’ve taken my share, too - but I’m not the bigot running for President, and she is. Pull out all the stops, baby! She isn’t pulling any punches in her lying vicious attacks on our president or innocent poor people who need an abortion, or on gay people, so why should others treat her with any kind of kid gloves? The woman is evil incarnate. It is a travesty that this maniac is given a national voice. This has nothing to do with her gender.  It has to do with her policies and stances. She IS crazy, the photo is just a reminder.
