George Washington grew hemp.  In fact, it used to be ACCEPTED as SO IMPORTANT to the economy that every farmer was REQUIRED to grow HEMP, and could even PAY THEIR TAXES WITH IT!
So, when we talk about “Legalization”, the correct term would actually be “RE-Legalization”…
Just in case you didn’t know…here’s some more HEMP INFO…

f="http://leftish.tumblr.com/post/3450407172/today-is-george-washingtons-birthday-did-you-know">Today is George Washington’s birthday. Did you know?

When I was a school child we didn’t have a Monday holiday called “President’s Day”.   We got two days off in February — Lincoln’s birthday on February 12, and Washington’s on February 22.

Years ago, long after the switch to one amorphous all-inclusive “President’s Day” Monday holiday, I remember being saddened that my daughters did not know the birth dates of arguably our two most influential Presidents.

In fairness, I only memorized those dates so I would know when my next day off was, but still, at least I know them.
