[NOTES* from Leftish - are always in brackets]
I don’t even think that counts as an investment — that’s like a tip! At a certain point, you wonder, when are we going to see $100 million spent, because its worth quite a bit to have the President of the United States owe you a favor.”
~ Chris Hayes
The Committee to Re-elect Barack Obama
[NOTE* from Leftish: Oh, Sarah, Sarah, Sarah, you deserve your malicious ideas to boomerang back at you! You evil, vicious woman.]
“Personally I’d like to see Dems do a “Liberals vote for Newt, annoy a Conservative Campaign” just to annoy Sinner Sarah Palin. I’d love to see her go ballistic knowing that Liberals are voting for Newt in the Primaries as a vote for Obama in the General.”
~ Eric Larsen
[NOTE* from Leftish: I think this is a REALLY GOOD IDEA! Eric is referring, of course, to doing this in states that conduct open primaries. If you live in a state with an open GOP Primary, please consider doing this!]
Republicans are worried sick about Newt Gingrich’s ascendance, while Democrats are tickled pink.
Yet no responsible Democrat should be pleased at the prospect that Gingrich could get the GOP nomination. The future of America is too important to accept even a small risk of a Gingrich presidency.
The Republican worry is understandable. “The possibility of Newt Gingrich being our nominee against Barack Obama I think is essentially handling the election over to Obama,” says former Minnesota Governor Tom Pawlenty, a leading GOP conservative. “I think that’s shared by a lot of folks in the Republican party.”
This is how many ads Gingrich and Romney are running in Florida.
Apparently 92% of the total ads running in Florida right now are negative ones; 68% are Anti-Gingrich, 9% are pro-Gingrich, 22.9% are anti-Romney and .1% are pro-Romney!
[GEEZ! I feel for you Floridians! Someone posted this in The Young Turks Chat Room on Facebook yesterday:
“The ads are fast and furious, really nasty. If you are watching a half hour show, you will get at least 6 ads during the break.”]

Statistics show that 94% of the time, the candidate with the most money wins.
I think today’s primary will be no different…
(btw, Ron Paul and Rick Santorum didn’t run any ads in Florida.)
We have GOT to reverse Citizens United, and demand that All Candidates take Public Financing. This is insanity - these candidates are exacting “cruel and unusual punishment” on the very people whose votes they want!
They’re still having problems.
They’re getting engaged, but they’re a reluctant bride, dragged down the aisle, calling their old boyfriend, ‘are you still interested in me?’
But as a member of the media, perhaps as a Democrat, I really want it to be Newt against Obama for so many reasons.
It’s the entertainment, it’s the theater value, there’s more narrative, there’s more subtext - it would be a more interesting race, there would be more WWE, WAY BETTER than Romney against Obama!”
