so I haven’t verified this yet, but here’s what I heard:

“There are more African American men in our prisons and on parole today then there were slaves during the Civil War.”

I[n truth, today’s prisoners ARE this era’s slave labor.  That’s why the 1% don’t ever want the “War on Drugs” to end - even though half of our prisoners are non-violent, drug offenders.  The FAT CATS make money as arresting officers, bail bondsmen, lawyers, judges, prison guards and  workers, clothing manufacturers, bedding manufacturers, handcuff and other weapons manufacturers (used to “control” prisoners), surveillance tools manufacturers, prison-building construction project creators (because we are building more and more prisons all the time), parole officers and many other industries that profit from this ignoble scam.]

Norman’s listener went on to say that prisons actually get PAID $68 PER DAY for each prisoner they house, and the prisons also mandate that their prisoners WORK full 8 HOUR DAYS, for little or no pay, and then the prisons turn around and sell those products made with (FREE SLAVE LABOR) for a good profit.

[So, you can see, why so MANY people would not want the “WAR ON DRUGS GRAVY TRAIN” to ever end.

The only way I can see this changing is by continuing to support OCCUPYWALLSTREET!  Maybe we can address this issue along with all the other wrongs that need to be addressed!

I’m not sure how to verify this information, but if it is all true, these statistics are certainly food for thought…]
