Please encourage your Senators to ask John Brennan the "tough questions" at his CIA Confirmation Hearing!

John Brennan, Bush’s Drone Chief, should NOT be appointed the head of ANYTHING!  He should be tried for War Crimes!

The Senate is voting on the Filibuster on January 22. This is our last chance to make any changes until 2015.  The Democrats only need TWO MORE VOTES to pass the stronger Merkely bill. PLEASE call your Senators and ask them to vote for the stronger Filibuster Reform bill that includes Senators actually having to SPEAK on the Senate Floor, and NOT support the weaker McCain/Levin proposal! Neither Barbara Boxer or Dianne Feinstein have issued a statement saying how they plan to vote.  They are being flooded with phone calls today. Won’t you help?  If you are in CA, call our Senators’ quieter CA offices, because they are always available, and I never get a busy signal. NO! NOT TRUE. Due to GOP stonewalling, the Dems needed 60 votes to get anything passed - NOT just a majority of 51, and with the Blue Dog Dems consistently voting with the GOP, they made it impossible to get anything passed.

Then Ted Kennedy got sick, and he was the 60th Dem.  Democrats don’t alway vote in “a block”, like Republicans always do. Some Dems are DINOs, and are really more aligned with the GOP. So, puh-lease stop with the BULLSHIT that the Dems had some kind of bulletproof majority for two years, it’s just not true.

CISPA VOTE THIS WEEK! CALL YOUR SENATORS!
I know, I know, activism is hard, and seems pointless, but sometimes that’s your only option, the only way a citizen can voice their opinion at all.
We should at least let the government know that not all of us are sheep, who are fast asleep…some of us are watching as our Privacy is being pried from us.

NEW ATTACK  ON THE KEYSTONE XL TAR SANDS PIPELINE BY BIG OIL BANK-ROLLED SENATORS!!

We have 24 hours to stop the U.S. Senate from giving the green light to a project that would have a catastrophic impact on our climate.

You may have heard about the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline that would ship dirty tar sand oil from Canada to the Gulf right through America’s agricultural heartland. Not only would this disastrous project jeopardize our water and land with the threat of leaks and spills — it would also make our efforts to stabilize climate change virtually impossible.

Last month President Obama rejected construction of the pipeline, but many Senators are rushing to resurrect it in order to protect some of their biggest donors — Big Oil.
