Students Protesting Book Ban Can Clean Toilets In Tucson, Arizona
The Tucson Unified School District suspended the Mexican American Studies department and banned books (they don’t accept the term “ban”, claiming they are simply “confiscating” books) leading to a student protest march. Students participating will be punished with “janitorial duties”. Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur discuss on The Young Turks.

Ladies and Gentlemen, some much needed good news out of Tucson, Arizona!
The victim our nation has been tracking so closely these past 10 days is making a miraculous recovery and is now apparently sitting upright and communicating…[cut to Sarah Palin being introduced by Sean Hannity]…cut back to Jon…Oh, I’m sorry, that was a bit of a misdirect, wasn’t it?
Actually, a lot of the credit for Mrs. Palin’s recovery after she was unfairly linked to the shootings has to go to her nurse, Sean Hannity [laughter], who it was clear from last night’s interview was ready to upgrade Mrs. Palin’s status from innocent bullied teen…to Joan of Arc.

GOP Rep. Wants More Gun Control - Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), one of the few pro-gun control Republicans in the House, wants to make it illegal for someone to knowingly carry a gun within 1,000 feet of certain high-ranking federal officials, including members of Congress.
and the Beatles sang, “All You Need is Love”…
This is Deepak Chopra’s advice, “Tweet Peace”.
Now seriously, I’m a child of the 60s, and I would love to still believe that sending messages of peace would work with hard-core crazy Teabaggers and other such nutjobs, but I’ve lived a long time, and seen many of my altruistic dreams get squashed, and sadly, I’ve become a cynic/realist when it comes to my expectations of the morality of my fellow humans. In short, I really don’t see the value of this. It’s a nice sentiment, but seriously?
It might make an interesting “Human Interest” story on Cable News, but could it possibly make a REAL difference, even if ZILLIONS of people actually Tweeted “Peace”?
already I’m thinking, “Oh, she’s going to survive…hmmm….President Giffords?”
